share your story

The core value of WAI is about the power of sharing your story. The glorification of sexual assault in art and literature has erased the voices of survivors for far too long, and we hope to use this platform to shine a light on the victims, rather than perpetrators. We encourage you to share your story in whatever medium you wish. Art, poetry, any traditional written format, short stories, a quote that has profound meaning to you, a link to your interview with a news network, or even a single sentence - all are welcome. Please submit any non-written work as a PNG or JPEG attachment, and written work as a PDF or Word document. Submissions will be posted on our Instagram and website. Anonymity will be 100% assured for those who do not wish to be identified.

To participate, please send your submission to submissions@wainitiative.org.

coffee chats

We’re excited to announce upcoming “coffee chats” for survivors who wish to share their story. There is no particular “type” of story you need to have in order to participate; whether you wish to share the effect it had on your life, your pursuit of legal action or a Title IX case, etc., all are welcome. The chat itself will be a non-recorded conversation between you and Sheerin via Zoom, and will be posted in written format on our site after your full approval. Anonymity will be 100% assured for those who do not wish to be identified. We hope our Coffee Chats will remind other survivors that they are not alone, and allow you to regain a sense of agency over your own story by sharing it on your terms. If you are interested in participating or would like to learn more, please complete the form below, and our team will reach out to you within 24-48 hours.
